J- 240 50C 1859 PCGS PR65RD

$6,500.00

This coin is a R-5 (31-76 minted). It is struck in copper. This is Longacre’s French Liberty Head design.

We are world class experts in patterns (we are building the finest set ever). We know what does and does not exist. We NEVER EVER see GEM RD Longacre patterns like this.

Amazing surfaces are unquestionably ORIGINAL. The surfaces reveal NO problems. You can see mint made light die polishing lines-but those are NOT problems. The mirrors actually have great clarity and even more surprising-great depth. The color is a full GEM MINT RED. There are NO spots either. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and do have light frost. There actually is light contrast. The eye appeal is incredible!

PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. The ONLY auction record for one of these dates back to a piece selling in 2001 (Goldberg) for $3,450.00.

Even if you do not like Patterns, the facts alone make a great case for this as a “put away” coin. A regular 1859 50C in PR65 (mintage 600) would WHOLESALE for at LEAST $6,500.00-if you could find one. Here you have a beautiful design that never was struck in a different metal. The pops indicate LESS than a dozen are accounted for. We have never seen another one like it-it actually rates as one of the prettier patterns we have EVER handled!
