J-1740 1C 1885 PCGS PR64
$3,975.00
This is an R-6 (12-31 known). It is a proposal for a holed cent struck in silver. Really neat!
Both sides are super clean-save for one small reeding mark at 2:00 on the obverse. We cannot tell if that was part of the striking or not. Surprisingly deep, clean, clear, and highly reflective mirrors beam from all over. There is a little totally ORIGINAL navy/pale champagne color. Every detail is pinpoint sharp in strike. The eye appeal is fabulous!
PCGS 4, NGC 2, CAC 1 (the only bean for J-1740)! The last one to sell in auction brought $3,738.00 back in 06/2011 Heritage. We think this is an incredibly neat piece of numismatic history. A design-a unique design that could have been. Plus, we feel strongly the price is super reasonable as well.
