J-1724 5C 1884 PCGS PR66

An incredible example of a holed 5C cent piece that was carefully carved. This coin is R-6 (12-30 minted). The design actually is pretty neat.

There are zero imperfections anywhere. The smooth and lightly mirrored surfaces have a few light toning dots and that’s it. An even light hint of champagne covers most of the coin. Every detail is needle sharp in strike and stands out. The eye appeal is tremendous!

PCGS 5, NGC ?. The 2009 Judd book values this coin at $4,750.00 in PR65. A PR66 (not this coin) sold for $5,750.00 10/08 Heritage. This will make a cool addition to ANY GEM Pattern set.
