J-1528 50C 1877 PCGS PR65 CAMEO

$49,500.00

Legend Numismatics is pleased to own and offer one of the rarest and most beautiful Patterns ever minted: The Helmet Head 1877 Half Dollar. This coin is a high R-7 (7-12 minted) and is estimated to have only 3-4 survivors. The quality and rarity of this special piece are phenomenal!

There are more distractions on the coin than the holder! Both sides have superior deep, clear, clean, and powerfully reflective mirrors. A rich layer of iridescent pale golden brown/champagne even covers the surfaces. Miss Liberty and the details are incredibly struck and appear boldly. They also have a thick creamy colored frost. The eye appeal is fabulous!

This is the ONLY GEM Cameo certified by either PCGS/NGC after 20+ years of operations. We do have an NGC GEM in our finest ever Simpson Pattern Collection. We believe there is only one other specimen that exists. It is known one piece is locked away in the harry Bass Collection (on display at the ANA museum). The 2009 Judd book values a PR65 at $45,000.00. Back in 11/03 an NGC specimen sold for $42,550.00 Heritage.

If you are a serious Pattern Collector, we suggest you give this piece extra special consideration. Once it is sold, you may never see another enter the market for years-if ever!
