J-1407 20C 1875 PCGS PR66

$14,500.00

Housed in an older green tag holder. We think technically this coin IS a PR67-however the toning is a bit too deep. The coin is a R-6 (21-30 minted). The obverse is identical to the regular 1875 20C, while the reverse has a fraction.

Using the strongest glass we have, we see NO imperfections. The mirrors are strong and clean. A deeper but not black layer of navy/purple toning evenly covers both sides. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and have thick colored frost. The eye appeal is nice!

PCGS 1, NGC 0. We do have an NGC coin in the finest ever Simpson Collection. The 2009 Judd book values a PR65 at $8,750.00. For those of you who want air tight fundamentals, a REGULAR 1875 PR65 20C piece WHOLESALES for at least $8,500.00. Those have a mintage of 2,790!!! In PR66, a regular design NGC coin sold for $14,950.00 06/08 Heritage. So in the end, there is NO real premium between this coin and a regular coin-yet this coin has 90% LESS minted! A great addition to any GEM PR 20C set or Pattern Collection.
