J-1221 $1 1872 PCGS PR66RB EX NEWMAN

$40,000.00

This is an R-7 (4-12 minted) Longacre Dollar Dollar Pattern struck in copper. Every thing about this GEM oozes in originality. This piece is the FINEST J-1221 that exists.

We believe only a few microscopic and invisible planchet issues keep this coin from grading PR67RB. This coin actually does exhibit mirrors. They are incredibly clean and sleek. They also have bold clarity and good reflectivity. The colors are no question original. Both sides offer about 75% faded GEM MINT RED. Some slashes of light brown are visible. There are NO spots or stains. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have full strikes. The eye appeal is remarkable!

PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. In 04/2014 Heritage this piece sold for $44,025.00. Simspon has a coin much less in grade. If you love really cool patterns, this coin is a “must see’.
