J-0140 $1 1852 PCGS PR65

$13,500.00

This is a wicked cool RING Dollar that is an R-7 ( 7-12 minted). It is made from Copper Nickel.

Completely original surfaces are clean-but do reveal a little natural heavy toning on the left obverse. Overall, the surfaces appear smooth and slightly prooflike. The details are needle sharp. The rims in the center of the coin (the hole) actually are wire like and stand up and out boldly. The eye appeal is super cool!

PCGS 1, NGC 0. There are NO recent auction records for ANY PR65 trading. A PR sold in 07/08 Stacks for $9,200.00.

Think about how many Proofs you see from 1852 of any regular coin or regular metal. A H.10 in PR65 (mintage 10) is worth $40,000.00. A dime (mintage of 8) is at least $20,000.00, while a Quarter (10 minted) sold for $138,000.00. The Dollar (mintage 35 in restrike) is $75,000.00. The 2009 Judd book lists this coin at $12,000.00 in PR65. Based just on fundamentals, we think this coin is cheap! We could only find 7 coins total graded between PCGS and NGC. Opportunity knocks loud here!
