H10C 1848 LG DT PCGS MS-65

The graders at PCGS may have been on crack when this coin came through many years ago. We don’t crack it out now because they are even more crazy on smaller coins. If this coin were in an MS66 holder, we would still like it. Same as the 1867 we have listed, this coin has a few die clash lines but NO problems. The surfaces do have light semi-prooflike mirrors and radiate a strong luster. The color is a beautiful mix of sky blue/pale olive/pale purple/pale redish gold colors. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck and do have light frost. This really is an unbeatable coin! Great eye appeal too! Housed in an older green tag holder. Even back in 2000, an NGC sold at auction for $2,760.00. PCGS 2, NGC 5 with only ONE coin higher.
