We are pleased to present this wonderful totally original GEM Proof 1833 Half Cent. Its rarity is slightly less than that of an 1894S 10C or even an 1804 $1!
This gorgeous totally original Proof is technically perfect. Even using a strong glass you can not find any imperfections. The surfaces are lightly mirrored. An even mix of milk chocolate/pale blue/pale violet/light mint red colors blend together across both sides. Miss Liberty and the details are knife sharp in strike and clearly resemble what you would expect on a proof. The eye appeal is great!
Only 30 pieces were ever minted. We have gone years with out seeing a single 1833! PCGS 0, NGC 3. In BN, neither service has graded any higher. IN RB the pops are PCGS 2, NGC 1. And there is only ONE PCGS PR65RD (we sure would LOVE to own that). Also, this is housed in an older generation NGC holder.
A price note: the last 1833 NGC PR65BN to sell in major auction brought a whopping $18,400.00 4/07 Heritage.
