Another remarkable Half Cent from a small deal we purchased from a major collector who is changing the direction of his collection. Everything about this coin is remarkable!
Amazingly, from a few feet away, you can see the glow of this coins luster. Its not like an 80S Morgans, but the glossy surfaces do stand out. Overall, there are just a few teenie ticks and toning dots scattered about. The coin is clearly an MS63+. Both sides are a mellow brown with hints of pale green/gold/purple. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. The eye appeal for this piece is tremendous!
NOT a common date by any stretch. PCGS 4, NGC 15. PCGS has graded only 4 coins higher.
This is one of the oldest coins you can still acquire in VERY choice condition for a reasonable price. One day, the price guides might get realistic and come close to what this coin really is worth (a lot more than what they show today).
