H.01 1797 PCGS M64BN 1 ABOVE 1 ELIASBERG

$110,000.00

This coin is ULTRA HIGH END. If you do not believe us, come see it for yourself! We see no real reason why PCGS did not grade it MS65BN. This coin was an NGC MS65BN (sorry we do not have the tag) and SOLD for $115,000.00 in 2006 Heritage. Plus, you have to love the Eliasberg pedigree as well.

Again, we see NO reason why PCGS did NOT grade this coin an MS65BN. After spending quite some time examining it-we believe it is a 64.9+ for sure. Do to know what they saw that we can not find. First, this coin is struck on a good planchet. There is NO pitting. The cleanliness of this coin is off the chart. A light luster and some gloss rise off the surfaces. Both sides are a gorgeous and totally ORIGINAL chocolate brown color. There are NO spots or stains. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck. Only with a strong glass can you see a small raised die crack on her upper cheek (as made). The coolness and eye appeal of this coin are INCREDIBLE!

PCGS 4, NGC 0, CAC 1. The last known auction record for this coin was a MS65 where it sold for $115,000.00 in 2006-heritage. It was down graded to PCGS and was part of a world class type set until last year. The ONLY way you ever could buy a better 1797, is to buy the Missouri Cabinets MS66BN for a sum that will make this coin look like we priced it a cents on the dollar! Just look at what happened to the NGC coins in Newman! The pricing guides are way off because NONE of these have traded hands in the past few years. Legend Numismatics is proud to own and offer this mindboggling 216 year old rare GEM!
