What a stunning coin! Rarely do we ever see these in any form of true MS. This is Ex Cardinal Collection (this coin was one of the pieces in the featured display of the Cardinal Copper Type set at the recent Long Beach Show).
Fantastic semi-glossy surfaces are remarkably clean over all. There is some minor planchet roughness visible in the left field-but it is not harsh and there is no visible porosity. The luster is surprising and shows off the chocolate color nicely. There are NO spots. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck. This is not the flat variety. The eye appeal is just tremendous!

At one time we are told a previous owner cracked this out of a PCGS MS63 holder to keep it raw. Obviously, he could not return it to a 63. We do agree this coin is super high end, just not a MS63. With grading being the way it is, we’re not going to crack a six figure coin! Regardless, the new owner of this stunning piece will have one heck of a Half Cent!
