G $1 1869 PCGS MS66

The quality is SUPER HIGH END. The rarity is SUPER too! We strongly believe this is a grossly undervalued date.

We could easily see a “crackout” dealer trying this coin for an MS67. It is housed in an older green tag holder. It does look MS67ish. We think just a few very light scattered HIDDEN die lines keep it as a high end MS66. The surfaces are smooth and really clean. In fact, you can see traces of semi-prooflike mirrors on both sides. There are very minute traces of die clashing. The color is a gorgeous light two tone yellow/gold color. There are NO spots or discolorations anywhere. Miss Liberty and the details are perfectly struck and have light frost. Your eyes will pop out when they see this magnificent GEM!

ONLY 5900 were ever minted. PCGS 2, NGC 2. PCGS did grade as many as 11 higher (including 2 MS68’s). Just as is, we think this should be valued at least at $10,000.00. You certainly NEVER see these in MS66 or better. Plus, this coin is stunning in appearance. Auction records show the last one in major public sale was back in 2000-and it sold sold for $4,600.00 then. An MS67 will run you at least $12-$15,000.00 if you can find one. Opportunity certainly knocks loud here!
