This coin was an easy “must buy” after a careful inspection. Besides its quality, its a great Civil War era date.
At first glance, this coin really does look perfect. Only under a strong glass can you detect a teenie tick under the eye. It is interesting to note the surfaces are incredibly clean and smooth. There are NO spots or discolorations. Both sides are a beautiful orange/yellow gold color. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and fully struck. The eye appeal is awesome!
We are a fan of all Civil War era dates because there really are too many survivors. in GEM. PCGS 26, NGC 55, CAC 4. PCGS has graded just 4 coins higher.
