5C 1886 PCGS PR66 CAMEO

We have handled many high grade 1886 pieces over the years. Few that we remember had as much cameo contrast as this piece.

The overall quality is high end. Shimmering mirrors are glassy, crystal clear, and have powerful reflectivity. That is actually unusual for this date as most we have seen have lifeless more shallow mirrors. Miss Liberty and the details are superior to most with needle sharp strikes. A strong covering of creamy white frost on the features adds greatly to the eye appeal. This coin is NOT your typical 1886!

PCGS 13, NGC 20. Auction records for 2008 show only one coin being sold on 12/08 for $2,300.00. Back in 2006 (none were sold in 2007) they sold for as much as $2,932.00).
