We’ve always been super Commem junkies. In our time we have handled as many SUPER Commems as anyone. These PL’s have always held a “soft spot” for us. We are not sure if they were the first off the dies or were specially prepared as presentation pieces. No matter what, they are cool!
There really are mirrors on this coin. Its not a hazy semi-prooflike. They are about 4″ deep, have light die polishing that’s only visible with a glass, and actually are reflective. There is no toning and this coin is a beautiful silvery white. Every detail is lightly frosted and has a full strike. We assure you, this is unlike the average toned Roanoke you will see! The eye appeal is fanatics!
PCGS does not designate PL on Commems. NGC has graded 11 MS66 PL’s. This the only MS66 beaned by CAC.
