Like the Spanish Trail we have listed, we have not handled a pretty colored one in years. And this coin DOES have real color!
The pretty colors are definitely the focus of this coin. Both sides are bathed in beautiful pastel amber/blue/gold/pale violet colors. The surfaces are fully visible. They are super clean and emit a powerful luster. All of the details are sharply struck. Even the anchor on the reverse isn’t dirty. this coin does indeed fall in the “eye candy” category. This is a REAL MS67 by anyone’s standards.
Only 15000 were minted. PCGS 13, NGC 17. The last one to sell in a major auction brought $3,738.00 in 04/08 Heritage. We can’t imagine it was as pretty as this!
