50C 1861 NGC PR-66*

1861 is one of our all time favorite dates. And this coin is one of outer all time favorite halves. We couldn’t believe our eyes when we first saw this coin. it has the most jaw dropping, heart pounding, monster colors we have seen on an 1861 (or any other date for the matter). Electric rings of rose/violet/lime/royal blue/violet burst from both sides. Incredible deep, crystal clear, clean, and oily reflective mirrors really make the colors into some memorable show. Miss Liberty and the details are pinpoint sharp in strike. Even Picasso would be jealous of the color display this coin puts on. Do not be fooled by the mintage (1000). Most were melted due to slow sales of PR Sets. PCGS 2, NGC 6. We doubt you’ll ever see a similar 1861 Half!
