50C 1848 PCGS MS65

GEM NO MOTTO ORIGINAL Seated half Dollars are every bit as rare and undervalued as GEM MS Seated Dollars! This is certainly NOT a date or grade you have seen in the past year or so.

This coin was love at first sight. We bought it from a major dealers personal collection. Using a powerful glass we see almost NO imperfections. All we can find is a VERY teenie tick or two-certainly nothing that’s visible or would keep this piece from a higher grade. Traces of semi-prooflike mirrors can be detected. the luster is surprisingly strong. A pretty mix of moderate olive/blue/gold/pale green colors swirl gently over the surfaces. Miss Liberty and the details are incredibly struck and appear boldly. The eye appeal is terrific!

PCGS 3, NGC 2. VIP: Neither service has graded ANY higher. The last one of these to appear in major public auction was back in 2004 and that coin brought $6,038.00 03/04 Heritage. We strongly believe coins like this at the very minimum should worth at least $10,000.00. The published bids for this date and grade are stupid (not just ridiculous).
