Ultra high end! We actually resubmitted it 3X seeking an MS65. Obvious, 3x PCGS said NO!
We believe a small and light area of “chatter” in the right obverse field is whats holding back this great coin. The microscopic ticks are covered by a toning finger print. Overall, the coin is VERY clean and smooth. Both sides enjoy a full booming luster and even have traces of semi-prooflike mirrors. A mix of navy/golden brown/champagne cover the peripheries and open into silvery centers. This a totally ORIGINAL coins-not one of the dipped and retoned Newman pieces. Miss Liberty and the details are lightly frosted and have sharp strikes. The appeal is wonderful!
PCGS 14, NGC 15, CAC 3. The last one to sell in major auction brought $6,462.00 08/2013 Stacks. This coin is nicer! Regardless, we paid a high MS64 price ($9,650.00), and will offer it at the right level.
