50C 1818/7 LARGE 8 PCGS MS64

This an extremely well preserved example of a VERY difficult date to find in Choice MS64 or better. In our opinion, this piece is far closer to MS65 then low end MS64. Overall, the surfaces have NO visible flaws. Only with a strong glass can you find the thinnest and lightest line or two.Even using the glass you will still be impressed. A moderate luster does slightly enhance the totally original “old time” toning. Moderate shades of deep pewter/pale olive/gold blended together nicely. There is NOT any question this coin was ever messed with. Miss Liberty and the details are very well struck. you do NOT need a glass to see the 8/7. The eye appeal is super nice! PCGS 6, NGC 1, CAC 4. PCGS has graded only ONE coin (an MS65 ) finer. The last PCGS coin to sell brought $14,480.00 and was NOT CAC. An NGC MS64 CAC just sold for $19,387.50 (in fairness it was colorful). Obviously ALL the published prices are WRONG. This dates rarity can not be over hyped. This is yet another really nice piece from the deal we bought at the very end of ANA> NONE of these coins are from any recent auctions. in fact, they have been off he market for many years!
