We bought this coin raw and resubmitted 2X seeking an MS64. We used to know how to grade these. Can’t promise it ever will MS64, but its one heck of a 63!
The surfaces are a thick satiny texture and are smooth. There are numerous die lines, clashing lines, and other clear Mint made things you find only on these Bust Halves. A surprisingly strong luster shows off a light and even deep champagne/pewter mix of original colors. There is a thin Mint grease stain on the reverse. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have really crisp sharp strikes. The eye appeal is VERY nice!
PCGS 29, NGC 31, CAC 4 (as you can see, CAC is VERY tough on these). No MS63 PCGS piece has sold in auction since 2004! An NGC NO CAC sold for $4,406.00 03/2015. This is a very nice and high end Bust Half that will fit in any collection!
