We LOVE killer slugs. The last one we had-the AU55 880 sold immediately and we had a long waiting list for it. These coins are huge and hugely popular!

There is no question this coin is 100% totally original. The obverse has a few TINY and light bagmarks-but NO BIG distracting hits. It makes you wonder if some cowboy or stage coach rider had this coin in their pocket during a trip (or if they used it as a slug). Both sides actually have a light luster which enlivens the deep orange/reddish gold colors. You’d be disturbed if you had sen as many cleaned and damaged slugs as we have over the years. So finding a GEM AU like this is really special.

Most impressive: the strike. This coin is as close to fully struck as we have ever seen! You do not need a glass to see the crisp details of the eagles feathers on the obverse. There is only a teenie bit of flatness in the shield below. Also, just as impressive-the rims are all fully struck and fully squared. There are NO rim bumps!

The eye appeal of this coin is wicked awesome!

PCGS 8, NGC 9, CAC 1. PCGS has possibly graded only 13 coins higher. One thing you won’t ever see-multiples of these appearing at shows of auctions. Opportunity knocks loud here!
