WOW! This coin is a GEM. Even we submitted it seeking an MS65. This is one of those times we disagree with PCGS. But we make no guarantee it will ever MS65.
Superb surfaces are super clean and have only MINOR light lines and a no notable marks. An unusual intense luster shows off gorgeous colors of orange/yellow gold. There are NO discolorations or spots. EVERYTHING about this coin is totally ORIGINAL too. ALL of the details are frosty and have sharp strikes. The eye appeal is spectacular!
PCGS 97, NGC 77, CAC 10 (ALL)> This is the ONLY 64+ graded by PCGS or NGC. Students of this date in GEM know the pop of 8 is most likely incorrect (our guess is 4-5). Even in regular MS64 NO CAC these WHOLESALE for $50,000.00. We purchased the last PCGS NON CAC MS 65 to sell at auction 01/2011 Heritage-for $86,250.00. Prior to that, the last one sold was back in 2005. CAC has beaned NO MS65’s.
