This is clearly a VERY high end piece. Hard to say why its not a MS64.
Impressive surfaces are extraordinarily clean. Only with a strong glass can you find a few microscopic ticks scattered about. Lines are held to a minimum as well. The surfaces do appear satiny. A full booming luster shows off beautiful and totally ORIGINAL colors of pale orange gold/deeper yellow gold. There are NO spots. All of the details are frosty and are well struck. The eye appeal is terrific!
PCGS 238, NGC 79, CAC 36. PCGS has graded only 6 coins MS63+. We bought this coin from a major “crackout” dealer who paid $8,000.00 for it thinking it was alock MS64. Not happening! The last one of these to sell in auction brought $5,463.00 back in 09/2010 Heritage. This coin will be a great addition to any choice set!
