$5 1909S PCGS MS65

After carefully examining this coin, we knew we had to own it. 1909S is a VERY rare date in GEM. So it was just a matter of price. We ended up owning it for LESS than we were willing to pay! This is a tremendous GEM that belongs in a great collection.

Both sides ooze with complete originality. This coin was never dipped or recolored. The surfaces are amazingly clean and have a slight satiny look. A full booming luster shows off light two tone yellow/orange gold colors. There are NO discolorations. ALL of the details are frosty and have sharp strikes. The eye appeal is fantastic plus!

PCGS 1, NGC 1, CAC 1. This coin last appeared in a major auction back in 08/2001 where it sold for $32,200.00. It is stil housed in its older green tag holder. Even the lone NGC coin last sold in Superior in 1990 for $35,200.00! There are 2 PCGS MS66’s, one of which just sold for $103,500.00 at the FUN Auction. We do have one in the Simpson Collection.

We cannot overstate the extreme rarity of this date in GEM and better. If you are building a choice or GEM Indian set, this represents huge opportunity (or if you just buy rare gold). We are pleased to own and offer this coin for your consideration.
