Its great when a high end coin is typical quality in a big set. The Pickering Creek Collection has many coins at the top of their grades. This coin is exceptionally clean and smooth. A strong luster shows off fantastic pale two tone orange/yellow gold colors. there are NO spots or discolorations on the high points. Any rub is invisible to the naked eye. Miss Liberty and the details are very well struck. Very eye appealing.
An underrated rarity. Just 8,680 pieces were minted. PCGS 7, NGC 15. PCGS has only graded 3 coins higher. NGC possibly has 6. Still, a coin that is seldom seen in choice AU or higher. The last one to sell in a major auction brought $12,075.00 1/08 Heritage while the coin before it on 08/07 sold for $16,387.00 Heritage.
