How can you beat a coin that has been in two world class collections (Bass and Pickering Creek)?
Save for some light chatter on the obverse, this coin is very clean looking. The reverse is MS quality. There is NO visible rub or discolorations on the high-points. Both sides have some original luster left. The color is an original pale orange/deeper yellow gold. This coin has NOT been messed with. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck. The eye appeal is very nice!
PCGS 3, NGC 10. PCGS has possibly graded only 2 coins higher (both MS61’s) while NGC has only one (an MS62). The last 70CC $5 PCGS AU58 to appear in auction sold for $80,500.00 08/08 Stacks.
