This is one of those “can’t put it down” coins. The mirrors have remarkable depth, incredible clarity, terrific cleanliness, and of course mind boggling reflectivity. A beautiful mix of pale forest green/blue/gold covers both sides. Every detail is pinpoint sharp in strike. The eye appeal is mesmerizing!
Of the 1000 minted, most were melted due to poor PR set sales. It is estimated less than 400 still survive. This is a VERY undervalued and overlooked date. PCGS 3, NGC 8. PCGS has 3 higher, while NGC has just 2. We could not find ANY auction records for this date and grade. If this were a PCGS PR67, it would cost at least $8,000.00 unless it was dull.
