$3 1863 PCGS MS61

This coin stopped us in our tracks. The quality is VERY HIGH END! Outstanding surfaces are clean and smooth to the naked eye. Only with a strong glass can you see some scattered tiny ticks (remember the coin is a 61, not a 64). There is some light Mint made die clashing visible. The luster luster is good and you do not have to imagine it. Both sides are a super original gold/pale orange gold color. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. The eye appeal is fabulous! ONLY 500 were minted. PCGS 5, NGC 16, CAC 2. NO PCGS CAC piece has ever been sold via auction (same goes for MS62’s and MS63’s). If you are building a choice set, this coin will make a great addition!
