$3 1860S PCGS AU53

We purchased this coin from major “crackout” dealer. He said it had been an NGC AU55. Even though no one ever comes up with a tag, we do believe them-this coin is unquestionably VERY high end!

PCGS was VERY tight when they graded this. First, it is totally ORIGINAL and has never been messed with. If we were offered it in a AU55 holder we would have bought it. Still, that does not mean it will ever grade 55 again. Both sides are amazingly clean. Only under a strong glass can you even detect a few light lines. There are NO discolorations from wear (which is super light) or spots. A surprisingly strong luster shows off deep original gold surfaces. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. The eye appeal is fabulous!

PCGS 9, NGC 11, CAC 1. This date is VERY rare and undervalued. PCGS has graded ONLY a possible 14 coins higher.
