No question this is a totally ORIGINAL GEM. The mirrors are deep, clear, and have bold reflectivity. There are some teenie flecks and toning spots that may appear larger than they are due to the images. The color is a flaming GEM ORIGINAL FULL MINT RED! Every detail is needle sharp in strike and has light frost. The eye appeal is amazing!
Only 950 were ever minted. PCGS 12, NGC 5, CAC 2. PCGS has only graded one higher-which is in the #1 Registry set we assembled-Simpson. The last one of these to sell at a major public auction brought $14,950.00 08/2010 B+M. Prior to that, NO 1872 PCGS PR66’s had been in auction since 2006. Opportunity knocks loud here!
