25C 1886 PCGS MS66
$9,500.00
Now that the speculators chasing rarer Quarters are gone, these have quickly settled to reasonable levels (about 15% less than they were at the summer ANA). Collectors do seem to be shopping for them again-very happily too.
This coin is really nice. It has fully prooflike surfaces with mirrors that equal the looks on Proof 25C! However, this is clearly NOT a Proof and the mirrors are shallow. They are covered by a super light champagne color. There are no major marks. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and have very sharp strikes. The eye appeal is excellent!
ONLY 5000 pieces were minted for circulation. This certainly is NOT a date or grade you see offered. PCGS 11, NGC 2. PCGS/NGC each have one graded MS67. In 2008, one sold in auction for $9,200.00 (1/08 Stacks) and in 2007, one sold for $13,800.00 (11/07 Heritage)! Opportunity knocks loud here!
