Amazingly clean surfaces are also satiny in texture. You can only find a few ticks and light giggles with a strong glass. A full booming luster makes you think 1924, not 1924-S. The color is a totally ORIGINAL mild gold. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are lightly frosted and have exceptional strikes. In the “old days” of raw coins, this piece would have easily sold as an MS65. The eye appeal is fabulous!
PCGS 100, NGC 110, CAC 19. This is the ONLY MS64+ graded by PCGS. NOTE: PCGS has graded only 2 MS65s with only one MS67 higher. That’s powerful proof that this date does not come nicely! The last of those to sell in a major auction brought $172,500.00 (1/12), while regular MS64s are about $20,000.00. Yes, this coin is priced strong, but understand it really is closer to an MS65 than an MS64 (and it’s not even half the price of a 65)!
