$20 1907 HIGH RELIEF FE PCGS MS65
$51,500.00
Save for the 1909S VDB, we strongly believe High Reliefs are the second most popular coin in the world. They are always in demand. Small collectors save up for one, while wealthy collectors love to hoard them (we actually have one collector who has a total of 14 MS65-66 HR’s). We did not realize that since we have been keeping records, this is the first MS65 HR we actually have purchased for stock. We have bought multiple MS66’s, but no 65’s. Too many of them we have problems somewhere. This coin just stood out and looked like a coin from heaven! Its a coin that once you hold it, you just won’t want to put it down-we have had it with us since we bought it.
We do unhesitatingly call this coin VERY HIGH END. Only a single teenie plachet flake in the upper right field may be what keeps this from being a $80,000.00 coin. Overall, the surfaces are amazingly clean and smooth. A full and booming luster adds to the remarkable High Relief “deep dish” appearance. There are NO discolorations or spots anywhere. The color is an even gold. Miss Liberty and the details are so well struck they look sculpted. You can’t beat this coins jaw dropping eye appeal.
HR’s are not exactly the rarest coin on the planet as 11250 were minted. You would be surprised as to how many that have been handled or messed with. We do know CAC sees many HR’s in GEM that do not receive stickers. We’re also pretty sure the pops for this date include many resubmissions. PCGS 93, NGC 64. As time goes on, and fewer HR’s are found to survive in really top condition, we predict not only will the worlds love affair continue, but prices on these will rise as well.
NOTE: this date is far rarer than than Wire Rim-which has a PCGS pop of 285 in MS65. A NON CAC PCGS MS65 FE Rim just sold in the Long Beach Heritage auction for $51,750.00. Opportunity knocks loud here!
This coin will make the new owner proud and we look forward to buying it back down the road.
