In our VERY strong opinion, this coin should have been a MS66+. We recently had a really nice example-but this piece somehow defies that and is wilder!
Incredible (and we mean incredible) super clean and satiny surfaces dominate both sides. An intense headlight type luster shows off heartpounding shades of totally ORIGINAL deep yellow/pale orange gold (the image may not pick up the colors). There are No spots what so ever. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and do have beautiful light frost. This is NOT anywhere near the quality of a “typical” MS66! The eye appeal is phenomenal!
PCGS 142, NGC 235, CAC 20. This coin last appeared in a 2004 Heritage sale (lot 8580) and realized $9,775.00. The last CAC piece to sell in a recent major auction was an NGC coin. That piece realized $11,500.00 04/2012. We promise, this coin is superior to most-even others that are PCGS!
