$20 1850 PCGS AU53

Not the rarest $20 on earth, but certainly a date that is one of the most desirable.

We were immediately attracted to this coin because it is actually totally ORIGINAL! Not only is original, its not an ugly “dirty” coin either. The surfaces are lightly abraded (typical for the date) but do display traces of semi-prooflike mirrors. The color is a rich gold. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are very well struck and have light frost. The eye appeal is superb!

PCGS 85, NGC 210, CAC 11. The last PCGS AU53 CAC to sell in auction brought $5,288.00 09/2014 Heritage. We actually paid slightly more for this lovely piece. The current Collectors Universe value is $6,500.00.
