According to our records, this is only the third specimen of a GEM 1913 $2.5 we have ever handled. The last time we sold one was back in 2007. These are not as easy to come by as you might think. We bought this coin from one of the top collectors of the series at the Long Beach Show.
Well deserving of its grade, this coin is beautiful! Exceptionally clean and smooth surfaces have sort of a light satiny texture. There are no discolorations. An even shade of deeper gold color is enlivened by a strong luster. ALL of the details are sharply struck. You can tell this above average piece was hand selected by a picky collector. The eye appeal is wonderful!
