We double checked our records, this is the first 1835 MS coin we have ever owned! We have never before seen any we liked (not that we have seen that many).
There is nothing not to love about this extremely choice specimen. It definitely has NOT been messed with. Both sides have a few light ticks scattered about-but nothing serious or detracting. no only is there a full booming luster, but the surfaces have light prooflike mirrors. There are NO spots or distractions. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and are above average in strike (these can come flat as a pancake). The eye appeal is heart pounding!
PCGS 8, NGC 14, CAC 1. PCGS has graded 4 higher (2 64’s and 2 65’s) while NGC has stickered NONE higher. Not enough of these have traded in auction for the geniuses who write the price guides to know just how rare they are and what they should be priced at.
A perfect coin for a Type set or to just ‘put away”.
