If you know our descriptions, we have called other early coins “GEM AU”. This coin is better-its a SUPERB GEM AU. Meaning we really think it looks MS!
We do NOT see hardly any wear anywhere -even using a strong glass. The surfaces do reveal extremely thin light lines, but no wear, typical crustiness, or brush marks. We do believe this coin to be original. The surfaces also do offer a very decent luster. There are NO discolorations or spots. Both sides are a heart pounding deep yellow gold. Miss Liberty and the details are remarkably struck and boldly stand out. We really cannot say enough about how great this coin is! Also, the eye appeal is tremendous!
PCGS 21, NGC 23, CAC 2. We think the pops are wrong and that there have been many resubmissions. PCGS may have 15 higher (another number we disagree with). These are NOT common coins! The last time one was auctioned was back in 2007 Stacks, where the NON CAC coin sold for $41,400.00.
On a scale of 1-10, we do rank this coin a 10+++!!! Do not just take our word on it-see the coin yourself. There are very few that survive that come close to this coins outstanding quality!
