1C 1909-S INDIAN PCGS MS66+ RD
$16,500.00
No question this is one of the FINEST 1909-S Indians you will ever see. It is more than worthy of its + designation. What a great example of the FINAL issue of Indian cent!
Totally clean surfaces are not as common on this date as you might think. Undoubtedly this coin’s surfaces are clean and are above average. Obviously this coin has been safely stored since the day it left the bank 111 years ago. A strong glowing luster beams from all over. Both sides are a semi faded original GEM Mint red color. There is some super light original toning and a few toning dots scattered around. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and do stand out. The eye appeal is fabulous! Special note: in its 40 years of operations, our sister company, Legend Numismatics, has only handled one 1909-S PCGS MS66-and that was in 2016. Do NOT let the pops fool you, this is beyond a tough date and grade to find!
PCGS 37, NGC 9, CAC 12. PCGS has graded just 6 in MS66+ RD and this Marvelous SUPERB GEM happens to be the ONLY MS66+ RD to sell, realizing $24,675 in our January 2019 Regency Auction. The current PCGS Price Guide is $22,500 and keep in mind that a 67 RD (no CAC) realized $48,000 in the 2019 ANA auction.
A coin more then worthy of being in the FINEST collection of Indian Head cents or box of 20.
