Hard to believe, we have handled more 1888’s in MS65+66RD then an 1887. This is our first 1887 RD.
This piece is an adorable GEM original MINT RED coin. It has never been messed with in any way. The surfaces are extra clean (save for one small planchet chip in the left obverse field). A strong luster shows off the great color. Only with a strong glass can you find a pinpoint toning dots (not flecks). All of the details are sharply struck (including the head dress). The eye appeal is seriously above average!
PCGS 60, NGC 21, CAC 10. We show the last one of these to sell in auction was a NON CAC PCGS piece that brought $2,468.00 in 01/2015 Heritage. We bought this piece really right!
