1C 1857 LARGE PCGS PR66RB

$19,500.00

If this were a gold coin, in this state of preservation, it would be selling for at least $50,000.00-maybe even $75,000.00! You NEVER see these in true GEM or totally original.

Sensational surfaces are lightly mirrored and have no problems. A monster mix of original faded mint red/pale royal blue/violet/subtle green beams evenly from both sides. There are one or two teenie toning dots, but no bad spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike and look almost 3-D. The eye appeal is incredible!

Do not be fooled by the mintage of 238. This is a rare date in ANY grade or color. PCGS 1, NGC 3, CAC 1. In RB there are NONE higher by either service. In RD, PCGS has two PR65’s-one of which is the Naftzger coin which will sell for “moon” money and then some. A similar coin (POP 2)-an 1856 last sold in a public auction for $37,950.00 11/08 B+M while an 1855 (also POP 2), sold for $43,125.00 in 1/08.

Superb GEM PR Large Cents are as rare as just about any PR Gold coin. There is no reason to be afraid of copper like this. Chances are unless you store the coin poorly, at this point in its life, a RB should not turn BN. Plus, this coin is stable and is in an older green tag holder.

Legend Numismatics is pleased to own and offer this wonderful GEM to collectors at what we feel is one heck of a cheap price!
