1C 1848 PCGS PR65BN N19 DAN HOLMES

$18,500.00

What an incredible GEM PROOF! The Mint really knew even 144 years ago how to produce a true forever collector worthy coin! This coin certainly is one. It looks like it was minted yesterday!

Deep mirrors like you’d expect to see on a silver coin from the 1890’s cover all of the surfaces. The mirrors are deep, crystal clear, remarkably clean, and have strong reflectivity. There are NO spots or discolorations. The reverse actually has hints of light MINT RED. The obverse is mostly brown with highlights of red. Of course the colors are totally original.. Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike and have thick frost. The eye appeal is sensational!

Read this carefully: ONLY 7 pieces were minted. PCGS 3, NGC 0, CAC 1. We do think this coin is represented more then once on the PCGS pops. This coin last sold for $14,375.00 in the Holmes sale Goldberg 01/2011. You really can’t argue how grossly UNDERvalued a coin like this is-even if all 7 survived and were GEM’s. How can they not be at least $25,000.00?? Even an 1848 10C in PR 64 is worth $25,000.00-and that’s just a 64!!! If your looking for a neat “put away” piece, here it is. Or, if you have junk or dupes laying around-this is a much better hold for the future!
