1C 1839 PCGS MS66RB BOOBY HEAD N-11 NAFTZGER

Unbelievable quality and eye appeal! Clearly this is one of the absolute FINEST Booby Heads in existence.

We bought this coin in the after market, not at the sale. A major dealer had his eye on it for his personal collection and walked away to think about it, and we persuaded our friend who had it to sell it to us (the other guy never said to hold it). This coin is unlike any Booby Head we have seen. First, the obverse is completely ORIGINAL Mint RD in color. The reverse is toned a beautiful RB with a mix of RD/BN/purple/blue. The surfaces are flawless and have a satiny texture. A surprisingly strong luster adds to the overall appearance. Miss Liberty and the details are very well struck. The eye appeal is remarkable.

Finding any Booby Head so fresh and ORIGINAL is nearly impossible. Naftzger definitely had the best of the best of these! PCGS 3, NGC 1. NGC has graded one MS67RB. NGC has graded an MS65 and 66 in RD. Still, we will challenge this coin against those!
