When we first saw this coin we could not believe it. This coin has a tremendous amount of GEM ORIGINAL MINT RED. No question,this piece was NEVER messed with. The ULTRA HIGH END quality and eye appeal of this piece rival ANY we have seen!
Amazingly, the surfaces are totally devoid of any problems. There is just a HIDDEN planchet flake (a little nothing that affects nothing). The obverse is mostly light chocolate brown with strong hints of MINT RED around the devices. The reverse is an 60% mix of ORIGINAL MINT RED and light chocolate brown colors. There are NO spots or stains anywhere. Miss Liberty and all of the details except the rim (which is a little flat) are sharply struck. The eye appeal is totally amazing!
PCGS 8, NGC 8, CAC, 3. Only NGC has graded a single coin finer. In the last Naftzger Sale by Goldberg (2/09) one realized $5,750.00. The majority of those coins are long off the market and are in VERY strong hands. Opportunity knocks loud here!
