We’ve studied this coin hard-it is unquestionably ORIGINAL and a GEM!
Amazing surfaces are really flawless and smooth. We do not see ANY marks, stains, ticks, nothing-even with a strong glass. There is some luster. Both sides are a neat chocolate brown w/teenie hints of Mint Red by the devices. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck. The eye appeal is terrific!
PCGS 14, NGC 9, CAC 2. PCGS has graded 11 coins higher. Only because last years Naftzgers Sale, are any 1827’s in MS64/65 available. Do not be fooled, this is a VERY rare date in MS63 and higher!
In our opinion, coins like this (actually ALL PRE 1850 Large cents) should be worth a bunch more. We think as time goes on, they will appreciate substantially.
