We are pleased to have been able to purchase this neat coin from the Cardinal Collection of Early Copper. It is a true under recognized rarity!
This coin is a pleasing XF45. It does have a slight glossy texture. Only using a strong glass can you detect a few teenie ticks. there are NO major problems. The color is a deeper brown (but no black). Miss Liberty and the details are well struck. All the wear is light, even, and shows no discolorations. The eye appeal is excellent!
PCGS 2, NGC 4, CAC 1. This is amazing: after 20+ years of operations, PCGS has graded ONLY 8 coins higher. There are NO auction records at all for any XF45’s. Even XF’s (the last one was sold back in 2006). If you collect Early Large cents, this is a VERY rare opportunity to acquire a VERY pleasing 1823 specimen!
