We love this coin. It is so cool looking and nice! Plus, it is extremely rare. Incredible surfaces are super clean and sleek. The reverse does have some corrosion in the planchet (as made). The gloss/luster of this coin is breathtaking. We do think it was lightly oiled (the copper version of dipping) long ago. Both sides are a GEM thick brown color. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and every detail are sharply struck and do very much stand out. The eye appeal is intense! PCGS 1, NGC 0. Next step up-MS65 (which replaced this coin). This coin has been off the market for 14+ years. It has no auction history that we are aware of. Accurate pricing on this extreme rarity is impossible. No matter what, this is a wicked cool type of 1798 that is seldom seen.
