A real borderline MS65 DMPL!
Save for a small area of ticks on the reverse, this coin would easily grade MS65 DMPL. Overall the mirrors are super deep 8″++ and are pretty clean. The clarity is remarkable and is equal to what you see on a Proof. When you twirl this coin you get the intense flash and bold liquid roll of the mirrors. There is just a tiny patch of toning on the reverse-right by the ticks. The contrast is bold. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and are thickly frosted. The eye appeal is awesome!
PCGS 99, NGC 36, CAC 22. PCGS has graded only 13 in MS64+. There are NO beaned MS65 DMPL’s. This coin coin was the last one to sell in auction-it brought $3,995.00 07/2020 (at the peak of the coin market slow down). We have never see an 1890 with mirrors that isn’t hazy and deeply mirrored like this specimen!
